Recently, the website of the Department of Education of Sichuan Province released a list of outstanding teachers, outstanding education practitioners, and advanced collectives in education in Sichuan Province. Professor Lin Bohai from our School was awarded the honourable title of “Outstanding Teacher in Sichuan Province”.
Since Professor Lin Bohai started his career in college ideological and political education 37 years ago, he has adhered to the “four unity”, acted as an excellent teacher with “four virtues”, and served as a guide in “four aspects.” In the field of ideological and political work, he has devoted great efforts to cultivate talents with love and genuineness. Additionally, Professor Lin Bohai has integrated the idea of cultivating virtuous future generations into the whole process of education and teaching, assumed the role of an educator and a life mentor, and established a harmonious relationship with students. With the concept of promoting teaching through scientific research, Professor Lin Bohai serves as the chief expert of the CPC’s Marxist theory research and major commissioned projects of construction projects, and presides over one major annual project and two key projects of the National Social Science Fund of China. In addition, he has published more than 200 papers in “Studies On Marxism”, “Marxism and Reality”, “Contemporary World and Socialism”, “Leading Journal of Ideological & Theoretical Education”, “Hongqi Journal”, “Ideological Education Research”, and “Guangming Daily”. The above research has provided a solid theoretical foundation for Professor Lin Bohai to carry out ideological and political education and cultivating virtuous future generations. Taking into account this issue, he has devoted himself to developing talents in Marxist theory. Till now, he has recruited and developed more than 40 doctoral students (30 students have graduated) and nearly 30 masters students (25 students have graduated). Quite a few of the graduates have grown into leaders and core members in the ideological and political education field.
Professor Lin Bohai’s winning of “Outstanding Teacher in Sichuan Province” fully demonstrates our School’s faculty members’ modern demeanor of educating talents for the Party and the country under the powerful leadership of the University CPC Committee.
